About this library
Section titled “About this library”This community library organizes recordings for reliable search, preview, and download. Related actions stay together as ordered sound sets, so a mechanical sequence or complete environment is not reduced to one broad label.
Build a listening track
Section titled “Build a listening track”Use Add to track on an individual recording, or Add set to track for a complete sound set. The listening track can be reordered, paused between sounds, repeated, and saved in the current browser. The player can also loop the current sound.
This is a non-destructive preview tool: it does not change source recordings or render a new mixed audio file.
How the library is organized
Section titled “How the library is organized”Every approved recording belongs to a hierarchy:
Category / Subcategory / Subject / Sound set / Ordered recordingFor example, one mechanical sound set may contain separate recordings for a selector switch, magazine removal, magazine insertion, charging action, discharge, malfunction, and malfunction clearing. Individual recordings remain searchable, but their set preserves the complete context.
The original upload is retained. When requested and successfully generated, the page also offers:
- MP3 for broad device compatibility.
- WAV PCM for loudspeaker equipment and editing workflows.
- Opus for compact, high-quality playback.
- FLAC for lossless distribution.
Contribute audio
Section titled “Contribute audio”Use factual labels that describe what a listener hears. Do not claim an effect, identity, location, or source that the recording does not establish. A moderator may correct metadata, request changes, or reject a file that cannot be validated.
Contribute an audio set
Upload up to 30 related recordings, arrange them in order, and preview the paths that will enter the approved archive.
Original files remain private until a moderator approves them.
