What It Is: A systematic review of the assumptions that underpin an analysis. Every judgment is based on assumptions, and this technique is used to explicitly list and question them.

When to Use It: At the beginning of a project to understand the foundational logic, or as a review of a draft analysis to ensure its premises are sound.
